Busy Busy

April 6, 2009

Well it has been hell of a last few weeks (hence me neglecting the blog for a little while). I’ve been playing around with my strobist kit and had a couple of photo shoots including a wedding, and another car shoot for UpDown Apparel www.updown.com.au .

My wireless trigger testing is still in the works, but I’m happy to say the mod to Gadget Infinity V2s transmitter has performed reliably on two outdoor assignments (the wedding and the car shoot). There will be extra modifications needed for the antenna trigger cover as the 50cent pen from Officeworks has failed to hold twice. Its simply not strong enough to handle being knocked or removed and refitted into a foam road case. I have another possible solution on the cards, of which I will mount up soon.

Both the modded trigger and the standard trigger performed well, with minimal misfires and sufficient range. Sometimes I may have thought I was trying to out shoot the flashes recycle time.

Also in the plans is a set of DIY strobe reflectors made from easy to find bits and pieces. Details to follow.

I have to head off for now, but I have much to blog about in coming weeks so stay tuned.
