It’s always exciting bringing home a new baby, this time a used Canon 200mm f2.8 L MK1 prime lens. This lens is regarded as one of Canon’s sharpest lenses, probably just sitting behind the 135mm f2 (which I’m sure to obtain one day) and up there in quality with lenses worth six times the amount. I’ll be giving it its first test drive at a wedding next week, but initial testing at the store at f2.8 gave excellent results and a lightning fast focus speed. Not having Image Stabilisation I’ll still need to keep the shutter speeds above 1/200th of a second to shoot hand held. Here are a couple of pictures.
